Acne Home Remedies: Garlic

Sunday, June 19th, 2005

Garlic growing in a containerImage via WikipediaGarlic as an acne home remedy? Home remedies for acne and other maladies often use what we feel are odd ingredients. However, garlic has been proven to be effective in the treatment and prevention of several different health problems, including those that are skin related such as acne. Garlic: it’s not just for warding off vampires any more. Use it to ward off acne, but be careful not to breath too heavily.

The use of garlic is another good home remedy for acne. In fact, eating 2-3 cloves of raw garlic everyday will help reduce, even prevent acne. Dabbing acne with a couple of crushed garlic once or twice a day could prove to be very effective. Or you can supplement with standardized garlic capsules and be acne-free without the awful smell.

Home remedies for acne do not always mean utilization of the things I mentioned above. The surefire way to remedy your acne problem is by eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables; drinking lots of water; exercising regularly; and keeping your skin clean by washing it regularly with a mild soap and lukewarm water.

These home remedies for acne may have worked effectively for some people but if they don’t prove effective on you, then try to consult a dermatologist. This would mean of course that you’ll have to spend more. But then, since your acne does not respond to simple home remedies, your acne is an expensive acne to cure indeed!
